Am doing LAX YYC in early June on one of the Jazz Canadairs that, I think, has a J section.
Are those seats generally filled with revenue pax or is there at least a chance that, as Elite, I can use one of my SSWU certs on my H fare 7 days out?If its a choice between burning a SSWU on a 3 hour CRJ705 flight or a 1 hour mainline, I would chose the CRJ.
I agree.
I will use my SSWUs on long haul international flights, and if Aerolotto does not work out, waste them in February 07 :) :eek:Wow,burning up a SSWU on a Canadair flight.
If its a choice between burning a SSWU on a 3 hour CRJ705 flight or a 1 hour mainline, I would chose the CRJ.Thanks, folks. This ticket has already been purchased, but can be changed. Originates in Dunedin, NZ so I'm flying right through (it's actually a STAR1 RTW ticket, so no return leg). I've no real problem burning a SSWU for this as only 10% of travel is ever on AC metal, but I can see the logic in what some are saying using UA and E+. In other words, I quite often give certs away on Flyertalk as I can't use them seeing as I live in NZ. I use AP largely for the ease with which *G is awarded. (So much for a 'loyalty' programme for AC- hardly.)
Thanks again. I'll see what develops and will try to report J loadings in this thread.Per seatguru, Y seats have 34" pitch. If choosing Y, I'd go AC non-stop vs. connecting on UA simply for E+!I agree that it is a waste of time to use a SSWU (or 2 if also using it for the return flight) on this route. I would suggest that you use United Airlines (possibly from YVR after an AC flight to that airport, or on UA via Denver) and use the E+ seats.Am doing LAX YYC in early June on one of the Jazz Canadairs that, I think, has a J section.
Yes, this flight has J class. THis flight hooks into the YEG-LAX flights, FWIW.

Difficult to tell as this is a new flight departure time for AC. THere is no empirical evidence to sugest any trend.I agree that it is a waste of time to use a SSWU (or 2 if also using it for the return flight) on this route. If you have already bought the tickets, what is the cost to changing the route, with AC codeshared on all UA flights, so you can upgrade to E+ seats?Am doing LAX YYC in early June on one of the Jazz Canadairs that, I think, has a J section.
